Season 2[]

201 SC63

On the last day of school, Miss. Woods stops Rick from leaving class and calls him Mr. Harris, but he corrects that he prefers to go by Rick Tyler now. She ignores his request and calls him Mr. Harris again. She asks how he cheated on the test, which insults him. Miss. Woods presses that she doesn't believe he passed the end-of-year exam. He scoffs but defends himself as he studied hard for that grade. She accuses him of cheating and wants him to take a test from last year while she supervises. Rick is offended and emotionally reveals that he saved her and everyone in this stupid town. She is confused, but he doesn't elaborate. He tells her to go ahead and fail him, then storms out of the classroom. [1]

Rick returns to take the test he previously failed by default. She closely supervises his test and is surprised when he stills passes despite her supervision. She apologizes to him for underestimating his potential. He simply nods that he's used to it and leaves the room.[2] She drives out to the Harris farm to speak with Rick, wanting to show him college brochures. College can be a place to start over, which is what she did. Rick takes the pamphlets to look them over, when Matt comes out of the house and snarks that Rick will be in jail before college. He demeans Miss. Woods who decides to leave the home.[3]

Season 3[]

The bell rings, signaling the end of class. Miss. Woods stops Cameron as he's leaving. She spoke with Mr. Deisinger, who told her that Cameron hasn't been painting. He also hasn't turned in his assignment to her today, which isn't like him. She asks if everything alright. He claims things are fine, he's just been preoccupied. He asks to do the assignment tonight instead. She tells him not to worry about this one. She knows she considered the strictest teacher at Blue Valley. Even her coworkers avoid me at the lounge at lunch. But she only put up a wall because she's dealt with things, too, in school that she's carried. So if there's anything he would like to talk about, she's happy to listen. Cameron snaps harshly that he said he's fine, so leave him alone. From the doorway, Rick calls out to Cameron, telling him not to be a jerk as she's only trying to help. Cameron glares at Rick then looks back to Miss. Wood, apologizing. She assures him that's quite all right. Cameron turns to leave but Rick blocks his exit. Just because he's a spoiled rich kid doesn't mean he can talk to people however he wants. Cameron repeats that he said he was sorry. He pushes past Rick, slamming into his shoulder. Miss. Woods calls out to the boys. They stare at one another intensely with piercing looks. Rick warns that if he talks to her like that again, he will sorry. He questions "cool" and Cameron scoffs back "cool" before leaving the room. Rick looks up to Miss. Woods who sighs at him. She knows his heart's in the right place, but calling Cameron names isn't going to help. Rick nods and hunches over as he agrees.[4]
