Maria Carmen Saravia is a minor recurring character in The CW series, Stargirl.
She is an independent waitress at Richie Rock's Diner.
Series[]
Season 1[]
Maria waits tables at Richie Rock's Diner, brushing off the unwanted advances of Matt Harris, and caring for other customers.[1] Cameron and Jordan celebrate a birthday, with Maria giving them a free slice of cake and asking who's birthday it is. Jordan admits it's his late wife Christine's, with Maria apologizing over the mistake. She asks if she should take the slice back, but he say it's fine.[2]
Season 2[]
Over the Summer, Maria acts as a mentor to Yolanda, helping her with orders and teaching her how to wait tables. When Yolanda gets an order for a grouchy customer wrong, Maria offers to take over the order. She unknowingly falls under Eclipso's influence. She pours the hot coffee on the customer, becoming a victim of him and getting suspended from work for the day.
Season 3[]
With Summer over, Maria repeatedly makes tea for Richard Swift, who is vying for the perfect cup of English tea. He critiques one as being "scolded a bit too much". She sighs in disappointment and returns to the kitchen with her failed cup. He waits until she's gone to make a face in disgust.[3] The next day, she shakily brings another tray to him, anxiously waiting as he cautiously sips the liquid. He slowly tells her that she finally gets the tea 'right' after 44 attempts. Even Earl Grey would be proud of her. He goes on to teach her 'the mastery of making tea' and they become friends. Richard remarks to Beth and Rick that he's almost sad to leave Blue Valley because of Maria's perfect tea.[4]
A few days later, Maria is working at the diner when she greets Pat and Barbara, who are on a date. She asks Pat to tell Zeek that she said hi. Pat asks what she means and she winks at him, leaving to get their order. A few hours later, Maria notices Courtney sitting at the counter looking sad. She asks if she's okay, and Courtney lies that she's fine.[5]
A day after she's at the diner watching Zeek eating his burger in the background while Zeek is talking to Mike and Jakeem. She then heads over by the table washing some dishes while staring at Zeek. He then tells the boys that Maria has caught his heart and looks over and waves at her, she continues to stare at Zeek while waving back.
The next night at the diner Maria worryingly looks at Yolanda and tells her to pick up the phone since it's her mother stating that the matter is urgent.
Personality[]
Maria is seen as kind and motherly towards Yolanda Montez. She is patient, always cool under pressure, and knows how to deal with rowdy customers. She is dedicated to getting orders right, as she kept remaking tea for Richard Swift, until he was satisfied. She also cares about her customers feelings, even if she barely knows them. She went out of her way to make sure Courtney was okay.
Physical Appearance[]
Maria is a short middle-aged woman. She has brown eyes and long brown hair. In Season 1 she wore her hair in a ponytail and she had bangs. In Seasons 2 and 3, she wears her hair down and no longer has bangs. She wears a Richie Rock's Diner uniform and apron.

- Maria has the same first name as Yolanda Montez's mother, Maria Montez.
- In Season 1, she used to be regarded as Taylor. This was a mistake as the show credits regarded her as Maria.
- Maria was present at Pat and Barbara's first meeting in the flashback of Brainwave Jr.
- Maria is noted by the Shade as "the finest tea maker in the world".
