Stargirl Wiki

Trying to put into words how grateful I am for Stargirl seems impossible. I feel so much right now, but more than anything, I feel gratitude. Gratitude for Atlanta, the crazy night shoots, the insanely tight supersuit, the hair and makeup conversations, the best showrunner in the world, the hardest working crew, the PEOPLE. Even though we might not be going back to set, I know I have found a family within the cast and crew that will last forever. Thank you to every single individual that has supported our show. It means the world to me. Stargirl believes in destiny, so as I sit here, I have to fall back on that. Everything happens for a reason and I am so grateful for every moment. 💛💫Xo.

Trivia[]

  • Brec has a near-photographic memory when reading scripts.[9]
  • The drive-in scene in "Stargirl" is her favorite scene in the episode. It took a ton of wire-work since she was supposed to appear as though she were being dragged around by the staff.[9]
  • Both Brec and Cameron Gellman have type-one diabetes. Neither one of them had worked with anyone with their disease. They were able to work together and be honest with one another on how they were feeling. She enjoyed being able to play a strong, cool superhero despite her condition.
  • She had production place her in sewing cases so she could properly operate the sewing machines during the scene where Courtney makes her super suit. The first time she put on the super suit felt so special to her. She described it as, "It was almost like a personal milestone in that I truly felt like Stargirl for the first time."[10]
  • She wants Batman to appear in Stargirl at some point, as one of her favorite movies is The Dark Knight Rises.[9]
  • The oddest thing she had to for Stargirl was a life cast mold of her face.[9]
  • It took Brec a while to get used to working with the Cosmic Staff. She didn't mind being uncomfortable with it since it reflects how Courtney feels about the Staff at the beginning of Season 1. The longer she filmed with the Staff the more comfortable she became.[9]
  • While she hadn't heard of the JSA before being cast as Stargirl, she did read the comics and has become well-versed in them.[9]
  • Brec eventually wants to see a romance between Courtney and Shazam happen in Stargirl.[9]
  • Her favorite episode of Season 1 to shoot was episode 7. It introduces one of Stargirl's archnemesis.[9]
  • She injured herself while filming episode three. She had been doing action-packed sequences all day and then she had to run down a hill and slipped and fell onto a rock. She now has a scar on her back from where she cut it.[9]
  • When filming wrapped for Season 1, Brec was able to keep one of the Cosmic Staff's. She and Geoff Johns are the only ones with copies.
  • She attended the 2020 DC FanDome panel event.
  • Brec was part of the Geena Institute Q&A for the Season 2 premiere of Stargirl.
  • In 2021, Brec won the Saturn Awards for Best Performance by a Younger Actor on a Television Series.
  • In 2022, Brec won the Saturn Awards for Best Performance by a Younger Actor. She is one of three actresses to ever win the award twice.
