Christine Mahkent was a character in The CW and DC Universe series, Stargirl.
Christine was the wife of the deceased Jordan Mahkent and the mother of Cameron. She was beloved but fell ill after being exposed to a toxin that gave her Cancer. On her death bed, she made Jordan promise to do whatever it takes to achieve his mission, and destroy anyone who stood in his way.
Biography[]
Christine was in London when she first met Jordan, a businessman, who caught her attention. The feeling was mutual. He was nervous to ask her out as another man was pursuing her, who he implied to have killed. When he finally grew the courage to speak with her, she showed him the most beautiful drawings - of him. She had liked him too but was just waiting for him to make a move. They later became married and had a son together, Cameron. At some point, Jordan founded The American Dream to rebuild America one town at a time. At the same time, Jordan also founded the Injustice Society of America to thwart anyone who would attempt to get in their way. Christine found out about Jordan’s villainous actions and supported them, hoping to make a safer world for their son.
Christine eventually became a school teacher, whose school was built over a toxic waste dumpsite that was originally bulldozed by a company called Bannerman. This resulted in Christine contracting an illness that would eventually kill her.
Eight years ago in Blue Valley, Nebraska, Christine laid in Jordan's bed at home, dying. Jordan brought Cameron to see his mother and have a chance to say goodbye. She died that night only moments after making Jordan promise to do whatever it takes to complete his mission - even if he has to kill anyone who gets in his way.
Series[]

Eight years ago, Christine was very ill after being exposed to an unknown toxin. Christine's husband, Jordan, led their son Cameron into the bedroom where Christine lay dying. Cameron gave her a drawing of a flower from her garden, to which she happily thanked him. She expressed her pride toward him and hugged him close. She told him to never stop drawing as he is talented. She expressed her love for him, with him emotionally returning the sentiment. The heart monitor began to accelerate and scared Cameron, which caused Jordan to pull him back saying that it's alright. Cameron ran out of the room, but Jordan stays to comfort Christine. Jordan takes his wife's hand. He tells her he'll make the world pay for what it did to her, but she begs him to continue his mission and make the world safe for their son. With her last breath, she makes him promise to destroy anyone who tries to stop him then dies.

In the present day, Christine's absence is felt by her husband and son. Jordan honors Christine by telling The American Dream about his promise to someone he loved to make America a safer place for everyone's child. Cameron, however, continues to draw floral designs similar to the ones he gave Christine. A family portrait that includes the three Mahkent's sits on an end table at the Mahkent residence.[2]
"Make a wish...for her."
In November, Jordan and Cameron go to Richie's Diner where the waitress brings over a piece of cake with a lit candle. She overheard them talking about someone's birthday and asks which one of them is celebrating. Cameron and Jordan exchange a remorseful look before Cameron slowly explains that it's his mom's birthday, with Jordan adding in that it was her birthday. The waitress realizes her mistake and apologizes profusely for the mistake, offering to take the cake away. Jordan tells her it's okay and to leave it so the waitress goes to a different table. He and Cameron have an awkward moment before Jordan slides the cake towards Cameron, telling him to make a wish on his mother's behalf.[3]

This might be one of the reasons why the pair was attracted to each other. Eventually, she found out about Jordan’s powers and instead of running away from him in fear, she was fascinated by his abilities and became devoted to his mission and supported him. She made him promise to pursue this mission after her death, even if it meant destroying anyone who dared to stand in his way.
